What is Health to You?
A lot actually. Not only has it allowed me to gain quite some insight into my current food and exercising patterns, but also in what I actually achieved with these and which part could probably do with some improvements. With virtually no effort at that, since my phone can track all these things no problem. Now of course there is a myriad of apps and wearables which can already do all of this for me, this Health Management Platform entails a bit more than that.
A healthier life, a happier life
The GO Health Management Platform seeks to improve a healthy lifestyle with the help of various wearables, software and even applied games. This variety of applications can be used to gain information about your energy balance that will be used to visualise your health. Not only can you see that eating that hamburger is probably a bad idea, it will also prevent you from gaining that extra level and rare weapon you would've gotten, if only you walked to the McDonalds on foot. It are through casual, amusing games like these that the player is gently nudged toward a healthier choice in food and lifestyle. These games aren't nearly as strict as a diet, but they are twice as immersive and persuasive, causing the guidelines to require less discipline and motivation, if at all since the game will make these experiences rewarding and even slightly pleasant.
Perhaps even more importantly, the Health Management Platform is not just a collection of technology; it has become somewhat of a lifestyle or a principle, constructed and maintained by a community consisting of both professionals and normal people alike. All of them will no doubt be more than happy to assist you with advice and moral support in your pursuit of a healthier life. The fact that the principles of this initiative is build on a strong relationship between science, technology, local services, and creativity, allows for more insight into healthy lifestyles and facilitates in your pursuit for a better health.
The Health Management Platform contains:
Games to motivate and stimulate to move more and eat healthy
A proven work process to gain your personal health balance in 6 months
Physiological and behaviour data and reports to monitor your health status
Doctors, researchers and analysts from Rijnstate Hospital, Radboud University and Wageningen University and Research Centre

Today, I set exactly 6801 steps, went to my work by bike, which took me about 33 minutes, burning 123 calories in the process, losing 488 millilitre of moisture, which leaves me with 4.6 glasses of water left to drink today in order to maintain my hydration on a healthy level. Quantified self technology can be a beautiful thing. Although apps like these can sometimes seem overly meticulous in the information and data they generate for me, data which I usually couldn't care less about, but once this is applied in the context, data like this can help.
